Conversations with the United Airlines booking agent:

  • Me: I'm a passenger on that flight too. May I please arrange to have my seat next to his seat?
  • Booking Agent: Certainly; let me arrange that for you.
  • Me: Thank you!
  • Booking Agent: Alright, you are assigned seats next to each other for all four flights.
  • Me: Yay! Now I have someone to play games with!
  • Booking Agent: Let me tell you about our luggage poli--(breaks off as I interrupt)
  • Me: HOLY CRAP. I HAVE TRAVEL SCRABBLE! I TOTALLY FORGOT!!!!!
  • Booking Agent: (says nothing)
  • Me: I'm sorry.
  • Booking Agent: That's okay.
  • Me: It's just...travel scrabble.
